The Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey fight card has seen the addition of a light heavyweight match up between Mike Kyle and former Strikeforce 205lbs. champion Gegard Mousasi; Kyle revealed the news through his Twitter account.
A product of San Jose’s renowned American Kickboxing Academy, Mike Kyle sports a record of 19-8-1. After losing via TKO to Bigfoot Silva in a last-minute heavyweight tilt, despite putting in a spirited effort early on, Kyle rebounded by taking a unanimous decision over Marcos Rogerio de Lima.
Iranian-born Armenian fighter Gegard Mousasi has been shoring up the weaknesses in his wrestling game which cost him the Strikeforce belt to King Mo back 2010, as was evidenced in his most recent victory over Ovince St. Preux. Mousasi is currently riding a two-fight winning streak since fighting Keith Jardine to a draw.
Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey goes down on March 3 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio and will be held in conjunction with the annual Arnold Sports Festival.
