Mike Kyle sent word through his Twitter account Monday that he is being scheduled for a match in March with Gegard Mousasi. The bout will be part of the Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey card on March 3 from Columbus, Ohio.
Kyle and Mousasi will likely be part of the Showtime-televised main card, and the fight could go a long way in helping determine the next Strikeforce light heavyweight champion. The title has been vacant since Dan Henderson signed with the UFC last year.
Kyle is 19-8-1 overall and 3-3-1 in his Strikeforce career, including a recent victory over Marcos Rogerio de Lima. Mousasi is 3-1-1 in Strikeforce and holds an overall MMA record of 32-3-2. He has won five straight fights since dropping the Strikeforce crown to Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.
