After being resigned to the UFC following his release for comments made on Twitter, Miguel Torres has found out his next opponent. Torres will meet Michael McDonald on April 21 at UFC 145 in Atlanta, UFC officials announced recently.
UFC 145 doesn’t have a main event yet, but several fights that were scheduled for a March card in Canada have been shifted to Atlanta. The main card is expected to air on pay-per-view, while the prelims are televised by FX.
Torres came under fire for a post he made on Twitter. He quickly asked forgiveness, and was granted a second chance after showing remorse. Torres is 40-4 in his MMA career, including 2-1 in the UFC.
McDonald sports a perfect 3-0 mark inside the Octagon and is 14-1 overall. The 21-year-old holds a 56-second knockout victory over Alex Soto to his credit.
Other fights now set for UFC 145 include Maximo Blanco-Marcus Brimage, Rory MacDonald-Che Mills, Ben Rothwell-Brendan Schaub, Matt Wiman-Mark Bocek, and Travis Browne-Chad Griggs.
