Eric Schafer enters the Octagon to “How You Like Me Now” by The Heavy, while Jorge Rivera selects “Cracks” by Freestylers for his retirement bout. The referee in charge will be Herb Dean.
Jorge Rivera vs. Eric Schafer
Round 1: Schafer pushes the action, taking Rivera to the ground. Schafer keeps him there with a bodylock and tries working into side control. Schafer now in side mount, lands a punch right to the face and follows it up with short elbows to the side of the head. Rivera reverses out and the two are back on the feet. Schafer pushes Rivera against the cage, landing a knee, a couple of strikes and takes him to the ground once again. Schafer controls the head and pushes Rivera back to the ground. Neither fighter doing much damage to the other one right now. Schafer almost launched a knee to Rivera, who was still on the ground, but caught himself and went into side mount again. Rivera reverses and gets on top, but Schafer tries for a submission as the round comes to an end.

Round 2: Rivera with a big right hand, as Schafer shoots in again, pushing Rivera up against the Octagon. Rivera pulls away from Schafer, turns around and lands a big strike, following up with several more shots to the head. Rivera looks to have found another gear, landing several big blows to Schafer, who is curling up in a ball as Dean calls an end to the bout, giving Rivera a win in his retirement fight over Schafer.
The crowd begins chanting, “Jorge, Jorge,” as he shows them his appreciation. Rivera kisses the mat, as well, following the win.
