Tomorrow night’s UFC on FX: Guillard vs. Miller fight card will feature a clash between seasoned veterans Duane “Bang” Ludwig and Josh Neer; the two battlers will meet in a lightweight contest in the co-main event of the evening, one that promises to excite.
“This is going to be a good, old-fashioned street fight right out of the 1930s, when they used to fight for food in the mean streets of New York,” said Ludwig. “I’m trying to say it will be a war, without saying that because everyone says that. But this is going to be a wild fight on Friday night.”
For Neer, who returned to the UFC this past October for the first time in two years, facing Ludwig represents a new opportunity to fight his way back up the ranks in the talent-heavy UFC lightweight class.
“Right now, I am in the middle of the pack and I want to get ahead. The only way to do that is to win fight, to win big and win exciting and that’s what I came here to do. I’m ready for a war. I want to climb that ladder and get right into the thick of the most talented division in the UFC. The only way to stand out in this division is to be impressive and where better to impress than on cable TV…”
UFC on FX 1 goes down tomorrow night from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. FightLine will be back on the night with live, ongoing coverage of the event.
