Johnson comes out looking big and mean to Kanye West’s “Power.” Belfort looks pumped up and focused as marches out to a wildly supportive crowd.
Round 1: They touch gloves, with Johnson moving forward after Belfort. Johnson catches a head kick and slams Belfort to the mat. Belfort rolls for an armbar and Johnson backs out of his guard, jumping back in behind a big right hand. Belfort gets warned for landing to the back of th head. Big Dan stands them back up after some inactivity. Belfort charges in and defends the takedown. Johnson stays on him though, pressing him into the fence. Belfort lands a few punches before they’re separated. Johnson diving for the takedown relentlessly. Belfort countering well, lands good punches, knees and a kick before Johnson finally puts him back down. Belfort’s right eye is showing some serious swelling. Johnson keeping Belfort down, but Big Dan stands them up again. Belfort defends a takedown and then takes Johnson’s back after firing off some ground and pound. Belfort looking to flatten him out, now landing hard punches and elbows. Belfort slides in the rear naked choke, cranking on it until Johnson is forced to tap.

Bad night for Anthony Johnson. The only thing worse than missing weight by eleven pounds is losing by first-round submission after that. Who knows what injuries/illnesses Johnson headed into this fight with, but no matter what, this won’t be looked on well by too many.
