A lightweight battle between Anthony Njokuani and John Makdessi has been signed by UFC officials for UFC 145, which takes place on March 24 from Montreal’s Bell Centre. Njokuani-Makdessi is likely headed for the prelims of the pay-per-view card, which does not have an announced main event yet.
Njokuani suffered a decision loss to Danny Castillo in his last bout, dropping his UFC record to 1-2. He is 14-6 overall, but just 2-4 since 2009.
Makdessi (9-1) is 2-1 inside the Octagon and will be competing in his native country. Makdessi started his career 9-0 before falling to Dennis Hallman via submission at UFC 140.
Seven other fights have been confirmed for UFC 145, including Ben Rothwell vs. Brendan Schaub, Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs and Mark Hominick against Eddie Yagin.
