Women’s MMA is about to jump back in the spotlight, as Strikeforce is looking at pairing Miesha Tate against Ronda Rousey for a March 3 card in Columbus, Ohio. MMAWeekly.com first reported the bout Wednesday night.
Tate is the current Strikeforce bantamweight championship, while Rousey is a former Olympic medalist. The two have been engaged in a verbal warfare during interviews and over Twitter.
Rousey, who earned Olympic bronze in Judo, called out Tate following a victory over Julia Budd. Tate, a winner of six fights in a row, took the title from Marloes Coenen this past July.
On her Twitter account late Wednesday night, Rousey posted, “I haven’t signed anything, nothing is official, everybody calm down.”
