With the season fast approaching, Bellator has announced several new additions to upcoming tournaments. Bellator prides itself on tournament-style shows, which begin in March and will be televised by MTV2.
First up, in the welterweight division, War Machine and Carlos Alexandre Pereira have been added to the eight-fighter field. War Machine, real name Jon Koppenhaver, downed Roger Huerta recently, improving his record to 12-4 overall. Pereira holds a 33-9-1 mark; both fighters will be making their Bellator debuts.
Also, Karl Amoussou has been placed in the welterweight tournament, as the veteran fighter makes his way down from the middleweight division. Amoussou is 13-4-2 in his career, and has split his two Bellator fights.
The lightweight tournament, which already has the likes of Patricky “Pitbull” Freire and Rick Hawn signed up, will now include J.J. Ambrose. Ambrose, who is 17-3 in his professional MMA career, will also be debuting in Bellator. He is 15-1 in his last 16 fights, with the lone loss coming at the hands of UFC fighter Mike Pyle.
