Rising light heavyweight prospect Phil Davis will face his most accomplished opponent yet when he meets former UFC light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC on Fox 2 later this month.
Undefeated in nine professional fights – five of which have gone down in the Octagon – Davis is considered to be one of the division’s future stars. But, to make it to the next level, Mr. Wonderful will have to take out Evans, a far more experienced fighter with a very similar skill set to Davis’.
Both men have added striking and submissions to their collegiate wrestling pedigrees and have fought their way to the top of the 205lbs. heap as a result. With a possible title shot against champ Jon Jones on the line in this one, there’s no room for error for the still-rising Davis.
That’s why, as FightHubTV captured below, Davis is training diligently. Check out the video of Davis effortlessly drilling complicated wrestling techniques to get an idea of where the 27-year-old stands in his preparation.
