ONE FC has announced the signing of UFC and Strikeforce veteran Renato “Babalu” Sobral for a March 31 show in Singapore. No opponent has been named for Sobral, but the event will include fighters from DREAM.
“Babalu” is a former contender to the UFC light heavyweight division, and held the Strikeforce 205-pound title, as well. Sobral was cut from the UFC after he failed to release a choke hold on David Heath after Heath had lost consciousness.
In his last 10 fights, Sobral sports an 8-2 record, having fallen to Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi. The 36-year-old is 36-10 overall in his pro MMA career.
