The UFC has been busy as the end of 2011 draws near, signing three bouts for cards in the coming months. First off, Ed Herman and Clifford Starks have come to a verbal agreement to meet at UFC 143 on February 4 from Las Vegas.
Other fights that are near completion include Mitch Gagnon replacing Eddie Wineland for a fight with Johnny Bedford at UFC on FOX 2 on January 28, while Jake Hecht is reporting that he will face T.J. Waldburger at UFC on FX 2 on March 3.
Herman is a finalist from The Ultimate Fighter 3, having won back-to-back fights since suffering a knee injury. Starks, meanwhile, will be looking to improve to 2-0 in the UFC and 9-0 overall when he returns to the middleweight division.
Gagnon (8-1) steps in for Wineland, who was injured during training. The Canadian will be making his Octagon debut against Bedford, who was a recent member of The Ultimate Fighter 14. He sports a career record of 18-9-1.
Hecht posted on his Twitter account, “Just confirmed my next fight for March 3 in Sydney, Australia vs. TJ Waldburger. Back on the diet and hard training after the new year.”
Hecht won his UFC debut earlier this year with a TKO over Rich Attonito, improving his career mark to 11-2. Waldburger is also coming off a victory, as he holds a record of 14-6.
