In their quest to have the best heavyweight division ever, the UFC has added undefeated fighter Shane del Rosario to their roster, according to del Rosario’s manager, Jason House. House, who works for Iridium Sports Agency, posted a message on his Twitter account concerning the signing.
“Would like to congratulate Shane del Rosario (11-0) on signing with the UFC,” House wrote.
Del Rosario has competed in EliteXC, M-1 Challenge and Strikeforce since making his debut in 2006. Ten of his 11 career wins have come in the first round; however, he has not fought since February due to injuries suffered in a car accident involving a drunk driver rear-ending him.
UFC has announced that the Strikeforce heavyweight division will be absorbed over the coming weeks and months, as Zuffa focuses on the lower weights and women in Strikeforce. Del Rosario joins a rapidly growing list of fighters signed from Strikeforce to the UFC.
