Chad Griggs will face an undefeated fighter in his UFC debut, as the fight promotion has signed Griggs to meet Travis Browne. The heavyweight match will take place at UFC 145 in March from Montreal.
Griggs recently signed a contract with the UFC, leaving Strikeforce as the promotion begins the process of eliminating its heavyweight division. Griggs sports an 11-1 career record, including victories over Bobby Lashley, Gianpiero Villante and Valentijn Overeem while competing for Strikeforce.
In Browne (12-0-1) has won three of his four fights in the UFC, suffering a lone draw against Cheick Kongo last year. “Hapa” knocked out Stefan Struve and earned a decision victory over Rob Broughton in the past year.
UFC 145 goes down March 24 from the Bell Centre. The event will mark the fifth UFC card to be held there, but the first since UFC 124.
