The UFC on FX: Guillard vs. Miller is now less one lightweight fighter, as Brazilian-born Tennessee resident Rafaello “Tractor” Oliveira announced his withdrawal from the card today through his Twitter account.
“Guys unhappily I won’t be able to fight @ufc Nashville , my hand still hurts a lot , I was really looking forward to fight on my state :-(,” he wrote.
Oliveira was scheduled to meet UFC debutant Reza Madadi at the event, an 11-2 fighter riding a six-fight winning streak. After going 2-1 in the promotion during a 2009-2010 stretch, Oliveira racked up victories in other promotions to earn his way back in. However, in his most recent UFC run, he’s gone 0-2, losing to Gleison Tibau and Yves Edwards.
No word as to the specifics of his hand injury yet, or how long it will keep him sidelined.
UFC on FX: Guillard vs. Miller goes down on January 20 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennesee.
