Spike TV Will Counter TUF With “Ultimate Fighter Fridays”

It seems as if Spike TV isn’t going to let the UFC just head off to FOX Networks and dominate the MMA scene, as the former home of The Ultimate Fighter series will run Ultimate Fighter Fridays beginning March 2. The three-hour show will feature the best episodes of the 14-season history of TUF.

Ultimate Fighter Fridays begins a week before new episodes of The Ultimate Fighter start on FX. TUF will now feature live shows on Friday nights with the elimination rounds of the tournaments taking place.

Spike TV, which is available in nearly 100 million homes, has countered programming by the UFC on other networks already. They are planning on running special themed editions, allowing fans to help form them through Twitter and Facebook.

The UFC signed a multi-year agreement with FOX earlier this year, allowing the fight promotion to reach fans through FOX, FX and FUEL TV.
