While Jared Rosholt may not have experienced the same level of success as Brock Lesnar in college wrestling, that doesn’t mean the MMA newcomer can’t be a great training partner in preparing for Lesnar. That’s why Alistair Overeem, who will meet the former UFC heavyweight champion in the main event of UFC 141, brought in Rosholt to workout with.
Overeem and Lesnar will fight on December 30 from Las Vegas, Nevada for a shot at current UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. In trying to figure out how to attack the style of Lesnar, “The Reem” has used several different partners, including Rosholt.
Recently, Rosholt posted a picture of himself on his Twitter account with Overeem, writing, “After a couple of rounds sparring this morning.” Rosholt was a four-time NCAA Div. I qualifier while competing at Oklahoma State University, including a runner-up finish in 2010. So far, he owns a 4-0 mark in MMA, with three finishes via submission.
