Cole Escovedo is no longer among the ranks of the UFC’s bantamweight division according to his own Twitter account. Escovedo has lost his last three fights and is just 1-5 in his last six.
“Yes if u didn’t get what happened by that vague tweet 😉 I have officially been cut from UFC roster ;-(,” Escovedo posted.
Escovedo fought his way to the UFC after a three-fight losing skid in the WEC sent him to smaller promotions. The former WEC featherweight champion won six straight fights following the release, and still received a shot in the UFC despite a pair of losses late in 2010.
Inside the Octagon, Escovedo was topped by Renan Barao, Takeya Mizugaki and Alex Caceres. He currently holds a record of 17-9, with 10 wins coming by submission.
