Vitor Belfort will get his chance to excite the Brazilian MMA community just like Anderson Silva and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira did earlier this year when he meets Anthony Johnson in the co-main event of UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes.
UFC 142 takes place from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on January 14. “The Phenom” will be making his return to competition in Brazil for the first time since 1998 when he took out Wanderlei Silva.
“I promise you guys, we’re going to put on a terrific show,” Belfort said. “You guys are going to have full access to my training camp.”
Following the Johnson fight, Belfort will begin a stint as coach on the first Brazil version of The Ultimate Fighter against Silva. The two will face off in 2012 for the first time since that meeting in ’98.
