According to a report by MMAjunkie.com, the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix finals look to have a date, as Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier will meet on March 3. The card will be held in Columbus, Ohio, on the same weekend as the Arnold Sports Festival 2012.
If the date is made official, the card will air a day after the planned UFC event from Australia, as that will be shown on Friday due to the time difference. No other bouts have been mentioned for the card.
Cormier was a replacement for Alistair Overeem in the tournament, as he went on to knock down Antonio Silva and claim his spot in the finals. In the victory, however, Cormier suffered a broken hand and just recently had the cast removed.
Barnett stopped Sergei Kharitonov in his semifinal round match. Barnett also topped Brett Rogers earlier in the tournament, which included the likes of Fedor Emelianenko, Fabrico Werdum and Andrei Arlovski.
With news of the recent deal between Zuffa and Showtime now official, the card will air on Showtime, along with the prelims for the event being televised on Showtime Extreme.
