Two more bouts have been signed to the debut of the UFC on FUEL TV, as Aaron Simpson will meet Ronny Markes at middleweight, and Jonathan Brookins collides with Rani Yahya at featherweight. UFC on FUEL 1, which goes down February 15 from Omaha, Nebraska, will be headlined by Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez.
Simpson (11-2) is seeking a fourth straight win, having defeated Eric Schafer, Brad Tavares and Mario Miranda since suffering back-to-back losses at the hands of Mark Munoz and Chris Leben.
Markes (12-1) currently holds a five-fight win streak, including his UFC debut over Karlos Vemola earlier this year. Five of Markes’ victories have come by knockout, with four coming by way of submission.
Brookins (12-4) is a former winner of The Ultimate Fighter, but lost his last fight to Erik Koch by decision. Prior to that, Brookins had won his last four bouts since a loss to current UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo in the WEC.
Yahya (16-7) holds a record of 1-3 in his last four matches, with the lone win coming against Mike Brown in early 2011. Yahya was stopped by current No. 1 contender Chad Mendes in his last fight.
