The first coaches for the debut of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil have been named, as it will be Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva leading teams of fighters against one another. UFC president Dana White made the official announcement at a press conference in Brazil.
Belfort and Silva have squared off against one another before, with “The Phenom” stopped “The Axe Murderer” at UFC 17.5 in just 44 seconds. The two will meet again after the conclusion of the show.
The format of the show will consist of fighters living and training together in a house for six weeks before they meet in the finale. It is being planned for the show to air in the U.S., possibly on FUEL TV.
Belfort (20-9) is still set to meet Anthony Johnson at UFC 142 in Brazil this coming January as the co-main event. Silva (34-11-1) last fought in November, where he defeated Cung Le.
