UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will take on former champ Lyoto Machida tomorrow night in the main event of UFC 140. Coming from a karate background and off of a spectacular crane kick knockout over Randy Couture, Machida inspired the below video, an adaptation of The Karate Kid that sees a superimposed Machida knock out a similarly rendered Jones with a crane kick.
At yesterday’s UFC 140 pre-fight press conference, both men were asked if they’d seen it and what their opinions were on the video.
Through laughter, Jones said, “I thought it was hilarious, especially when Rashad came running. It was classic. I was actually talking to Ed (Soares) about it, I wanted to retweet it, but I was like, ‘Nah, they had me losing in it, so I won’t retweet it.’ But, it was classic.”
Machida reacted only with laughter when asked on the video and you can watch them both at the presser below (props to MMAWeekly). FightLine will be back tomorrow beginning at approximately 6pm ET with live, ongoing coverage of the fight.
