Anything Chael Sonnen says you have to take with a grain of salt, as the former UFC middleweight No. 1 contender loves to stir the pot. So, when Sonnen says he isn’t fighting Mark Munoz, despite several reports claiming he is, you have to at least listen.
“I have no fight with Mark Munoz,” said Sonnen, in an interview with Fight Hub TV. “My next fight will be based on, I don’t know how much I can say, but I’ll be watching the TV Saturday night, put it that way.”
Sonnen would be talking about the upcoming fight between Michael Bisping and Jason “Mayhem” Miller, who will compete in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale. The two were opposing coaches on the latest season of TUF.
The UFC has yet to say anything in regards to a potential next opponent for Sonnen, as the brash one has been pushing for a rematch with UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. “The Spider,” will be on the sidelines until at least the summer due to a shoulder injury.
Sonnen-Munoz was being looked at as the co-main event to UFC on FOX 2, which is slated for January 28 from Chicago, Illinois.
