Marius Zaromskis Makes It 2-0 With Somersault Kick Knockout

There may not have been a UFC or Strikeforce event this weekend, but MMA was by no means sleeping after Thanksgiving.

Along with Bellator 59, which featured the promotion’s fifth season heavyweight and bantamweight tournament finals, War Machine and Roger Huerta squared off in Texas, James Thompson got robbed against Polish strong man Mariusz Pudzianowski in Poland, and Mariusz Zaromskis somersault kicked Bruno Carvalho’s head through the mat at Rumble of the Kings in Sweden.

The Whitemare made it two in a row in a big way, knocking out the 13-5 Carvalho with a sequence of blows that he opened up with a flashy and greatly effective somersault kick. Carvalho tried to recover, clinging to one of Zaromskis’ leg looking for the takedown, but Zaromskis kept up with an assault of punches and knees that eventually put him down for the count.

The 31-year-old Lithuanian improved his record to 16-6, going 2-0 since dropping a unanimous decision to Jordan Mein last June. Check out a video of Zaromskis’ highlight reel finish below.
