West Virginia boy Brian Bowles walks out to “The Man Comes Around” by Johnny Cash. The crowd goes wild when Faber’s standard choice, Tupac’s “California Love,” hits the speakers.
Round 1: They touch gloves and get started, Faber taking the center and looking to work the body. Faber with a good lead right uppercut and a leg kick to follow. Bowles with a right hand counter. Faber lands well on the counter himself, putting together several punches. Faber taking the edge striking early, landing some hard right hands – especially uppercuts. Faber goes hard to the body, then head. Faber is really digging in and landing some hard shots on Bowles. Bowles is having a hard time finding his mark, while Faber is able to land frequently with power. Faber tries to land the trip, but only knocks Bowles off balance. Bowles lands a good knee. Faber dumps Bowles to the mat expertly and avoids the subsequent guillotine easily. Faber is controlling from the top, he eats an up-kick but cracks Bowles right back with a big right hand. Solid round for Faber.

Round 2: They touch gloves again, but start more cautiously. They press forward alternately. Faber lands a hard right uppercut that stuns Bowles and a follow-up knee that sends him to the mat. Faber is all over him, landing punches and knees to the body. Bowles is hanging on and Faber is looking for the guillotine. Faber lands a big elbow, then slaps on the guillotine again, this time forcing the tap.

“Dominick, you can run but you can’t hide homeboy.” Faber gives Bowles credit for being a warrior, but says he was confident he could finish the fight wherever it went.
