UFC officials have confirmed the main event for the first FX Network card, as Jim Miller will meet Melvin Guillard. The UFC signed a multi-year deal with FOX Network, which owns FX, earlier this year after their contract with Spike TV expired.
UFC on FX 1 is rumored to be happening January 20 from Nashville, Tennessee, but nothing has been confirmed by the company.
Miller is coming off a loss to Benson Henderson that dropped him from the ranks of top contender for the UFC 155-pound title and ended his seven-fight win streak. Henderson has since went on to defeat Clay Guida and will get the next shot at UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar in 2012.
Guillard was thought to be the next No. 1 contender after Miller lost, but he suffered a defeat to Joe Lauzon at UFC 136, snapping his five-fight win streak.
This is the third fight confirmed by the UFC for the FX event, as Pat Barry-Christian Morecraft and Josh Neer-Duane Ludwig were announced earlier in the week.
