Several reports are confirming that the second UFC on FOX event will take place January 28 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. This would come just a week after the UFC’s debut on FX, which will televise Ultimate Fight Night 26 from Nashville, Tennessee.
If the reports are true for UFC on FOX 2, that would mean four consecutive weeks of UFC fights. The two free events on FX and FOX would be sandwiched around pay-per-view events from Brazil (UFC 142) and Las Vegas (UFC 143).
UFC 142 has Jose Aldo defending his UFC featherweight championship against Chad Mendes, while UFC 143 features UFC welterweight champ George St-Pierre meeting Nick Diaz. No fights have been confirmed for the FOX show, while the UFC announced a pair of undercard bouts for the FX event recently.
With most of the UFC titles either set to be defended or on hold due to injuries, doesn’t it seem likely that Anderson Silva-Chael Sonnen II could be the main fight on FOX? Let us know what you think about that in the “Comments” section below.
