UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva continues to wait on the sidelines to hear who he will defend his title against next. The most obvious choice is former No. 1 contender Chael Sonnen, as the verbal war between “The Spider” and Sonnen has been at an all-time high.
However, Silva’s attitude towards Sonnen is matched by how upset the champion is with his current manager, Ed Soares. Soares took a photo with Sonnen (link) in which he is pointing his finger at Sonnen. The image has greatly upset the pound-for-pound king.
“It’s a problem,” said Silva, in a recent interview with MMA Nation while attending a NASCAR race in Phoenix. “It’s a big problem. I don’t like the picture, I don’t like the position my manager (was in). I don’t like it.”
Sonnen has made remarks concerning Silva’s fighting style and his wife, along with several of his training partners. Last year, Silva defeated Sonnen via submission in the fifth round in a fight in which he was behind on all scorecards.
“I don’t like this guy,” Silva said. “This guy (wants to) fight me? Go to Brazil. No problem. Chael talks too much. I’m ready to fight Chael. But you have the chance – go to Brazil to fight me.”
