Video: Lyoto Machida Trains For Jon Jones

When Lyoto Machida used his karate-infused style to defeat Rashad Evans and earn the UFC light heavyweight title back in 2009, Joe Rogan prematurely dubbed it “The Machida Era.” In his next fight, Machida was controversially awarded a decision over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, who righted things some months later in a rematch, knocking Machida out cold in the first round of their ufC 113 battle.

After losing the belt, Machida would lose his own controversial decision to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson before knocking out UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture in spectacular fashion with a crane kick straight out of The Karate Kid. Now, Machida will attempt to reclaim the belt from current champion Jon Jones early next month in the main event of UFC 140. The elusive Brazilian fighter has been training harder than ever to win back the title, and Brazilian program Globo Sporte recently filmed this segment documenting that training.
