Round 1: They touch gloves and both men set up in the center of the cage. Swanson starting to put some kicks together. He catches one of Lamas’, but slips when he tries to sweep it. Swanson tags Lamas low and they take a brief break. Lamas shoots for the takedown and puts Swanson on his back. Swanson doing his best to improve position from his back, but he’s taking punches from Lamas in the process. Swanson recovers guard and slaps on the guillotine and cranks on it. Lamas is trying to slam him off, but Swanson is hanging on his neck like a pitbull. Lamas stands up and Swanson is eventually forced to let go. He shakes out his arms and they go back to it. Swanson lands a good spinning back kick. Swanson turning it up, putting some good punches together on Lamas. Lamas tries for the takedown but allows Swanson to reverse and end up in side control. He moves to north-south. Lamas fights to his feet before the bell.

Round 2: Swanson switches his stance early and starts after Lamas in wild fashion. During a spinning attack, Swanson nails Lamas wit a right hand. Swanson again throws caution to the wind and fires off a wild sequence of strikes at Lamas. He leaves himself open to be taken down, but Lamas has a hard time getting off much more offense than short strikes and knees to the thighs. Lamas slaps on the arm triangle against the cage; Swanson tries to fight out of it, but cannot and is forced to tap out.
Ricardo Lamas defeated Cub Swanson via submission (arm triangle) at 2:16 of round 2
