UFC On Fox: Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto Vs. Darren Uyenoyama

Round 1: Yamamoto moving around on the outside, while Uyenoyama tries to pin him down and close the distance. Kid puts his hand on him quickly when Uyenoyama fails on a takedown. Yamamoto sticks Uyenoyama before shucking him off to the side when he tries again for the takedown. Yamamoto initiates the clinch and presses Uyenoyama into the cage. They trade knees and Yamamoto throws Uyenoyama to the mat, using his forward momentum. Uyenoyama gets to his feet and Yamamoto slams him back to the mat. Yamamoto lands a very fast uppercut. Uyenoyama catches a kick and dumps Yamamoto to the mat, where he looks to land punches. Kid reverses and gets top position on Uyenoyama, but Uyenoyama slickly takes Yamamoto’s back and sinks both hooks in. Uyenoyama slaps on the choke but Kid hangs on until the bell.

Round 2: Kid nais Uyenoyama with a hard left early that dropps Uyenoyama. Uyenoyama tries for the takedown and eventually gets him down, working from half guard. Uyenoyama sets up the back mount again, this time with three minutes to go and the body triangle on. Uyenoyama is riding Kid’s back, trying to soften him up with punches to sink the choke. Just over a minute to go and Uyenoyama is still looking for an opening for the choke. Uyenoyama relentlessly punching Yamamoto, trying to force an opening. Thirty seconds left and Kid is hanging in there.

Round 3: Yamamoto tries a half-hearted flying knee. They clinch up and Uyenoyama pulls guard. Uyenoyama control’s Kid from his back for a good long time before Yamamoto fights free. Uyenoyama throws a head kick. Yamamoto trying to put together punches on his feet, but he’s not having a ton of success. Uyenoyama avoiding the takedown as the round winds down. They’re separate with just over thirty seconds to go and Uyenoyama continues to keep clear of Yamamoto by throwing kicks from the outside. Good right hand from Yamamoto, but he can’t put much together before the bell.
