Dustin Poirier Wants To Make An Impact At “UFC On FOX 1″

Dustin Poirier made a splash in the UFC when he defeated Josh Grispi earlier this year. Now, Poirier hopes to make an even bigger impact when he meets Pablo Garza tonight at UFC on FOX 1: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos.

Poirier-Garza will be available on Facebook and FOXSports.com, with FightLine.com providing live, ongoing coverage of the entire event from start to finish.

For Poirier, he knows this is a chance to get his name out there to an even broader audience and improve to 3-0 inside the Octagon.

“I’m all about the battle. I genuinely enjoy tucking my chin and throwing punches and getting beat up and beating people up. I enjoy the battle and I’m trying to push myself over that. I’m trying to put on some great fights in the UFC and keep growing my reputation and getting better,” said Poirier, while a guest on MMAWeekly Radio recently. “We’re going to be busting each other up, we’re going to be bouncing around, and he’s not going to gas and I’m not going to gas. It’s going to be awesome; the fans are going to love it.”

Poirier is 10-1 in his career and has won three straight fights. Garza, who competed on The Ultimate Fighter, has won two straight since a loss to Zhang Tie Quan.
