Ben Henderson would like nothing more than to be part of the UFC on FOX: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos television event. However, Henderson’s main concern is getting his hand raised in his bout with Clay Guida.
Henderson-Guida is the co-main event, but the fight will only be seen on the live Facebook and FOX Sports online streams. UFC on FOX: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos takes place this Saturday from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
“When I first heard that, to be honest, I was a little bit sad about that. I was a little bummed out,” said Henderson, in an interview with USA Today. “The more I thought about it, I was able to settle myself down and be like, ‘You know what? It doesn’t really matter.’ All that matters is me getting my hand raised, getting that W. Being on FOX or Facebook or FOXSports.com or Spike TV or pay-per-view, it all doesn’t really matter; what matters is winning, you getting your hand raised.”
Henderson, a former WEC lightweight champion, has won his two UFC fights. He stopped Mark Bocek at UFC 129 and earned a decision victory over Jim Miller back in August. Guida has won four straight fights, including a victory over Anthony Pettis in August.
FightLine.com will have complete, ongoing coverage of Saturday’s event.
