Cung Le has split his time over the past few years training MMA and filming movies. However, with his UFC debut against Wanderlei Silva approaching at UFC 139, Le is completely focused on nothing but training for “The Axe Murderer.”
“The movies are not on my mind right now. My fight is on my mind,” said Le, in an interview with UberKnee.com recently. “My crosshairs are on Wanderlei Silva. We’ll see if Wanderlei can deal with my kicks.”
Le, who is 39 years old, is 7-1 in his MMA career. He avenged his lone loss to Scott Smith in 2010 by knocking out Smith. All seven of Le’s wins have come via knockout.
Silva is replacing Vitor Belfort in the bout after Belfort pulled out with an injury. Silva is just 1-3 in his last four bouts, having been knocked out by Chris Leben earlier this year.
UFC 139 takes place November 19 from San Jose, California. Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will serve as the main event, while Le-Silva takes the co-main event slot.
