Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Muñoz beat the brakes off of durable, proven middleweight battler Chris Leben last weekend at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England, taking home a TKO victory over the longtime UFC staple in the main event of UFC 138.
Following his victory, Muñoz politely and respectfully called for a shot at his friend and occasional training partner Anderson Silva’s middleweight title. Many believe that Muñoz isn’t currently the most deserving fighter in the division, that Chael Sonnen should be awarded the next shot at Silva, but Muñoz believes his case for a title shot is strong. On a four-fight winning streak and sporting a record of 12-2, with his most recent loss a split decision to the most recent number one contender, Muñoz isn’t far off base.
In a recent interview with FightHubTV, the 33-year-old made his case for a shot at the belt.
