Tim Sylvia, fresh off a victory over Andreas Kraniotakes at ProElite 2: Big Guns Saturday night, made a plea for a return to the UFC in an interview with Sherdog.com. Sylvia is a former two-time UFC heavyweight champion.
“I want to get up there. I want to get on the big stage again and prove myself,” Sylvia said. “I want to fight (Antonio Rodrigo) Nogueira again. I want to fight Frank Mir again. I’d like to fight Brock Lesnar, you know, Alistair Overeem…I want to fight all those guys.”
Sylvia, who has went 6-1 since a loss to former boxing champion Ray Mercer in 2009, was defeated by both Nogueira and Mir during his UFC stint. The loss to Mir was the first of Sylvia’s career in 2004.
“I just think it would be great for the fans. Just keep me around and let me have those great fights,” Sylvia said. “I’m going to put on a show no matter what. I’m going to fight. I’m going to show up and I’m going to fight…Dana White, I don’t know if (you’re watching), but give me a shout.”
