Michael McDonald will need a new opponent for UFC 139, as Johnny Eduardo has injured his shoulder and will not be able to compete. UFC 139 takes place November 19 from San Jose, California.
The UFC has yet to make an official announcement regarding a new opponent for McDonald. UFC 139 will feature a main event pitting Dan Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
“I was training hard, super confident, but I hurt my left shoulder defending a takedown,” said Eduardo, in an interview with Tatame.com. It’s 20 sessions before heading back to the doctor and re-evaluate if I’m going to need more sessions on my shoulder or if I’ll be able to return to training.”
McDonald is 2-0 in the UFC, having defeated both Edwin Figueroa and Chris Cariaso already this year. He is 13-1 in his career, with seven wins via knockout.
