Josh Koscheck offered to step in on short notice and face Carlos Condit at UFC 137. Condit, however, said that he would rather wait on the sidelines to get his title shot against UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
As everybody now knows, Condit will not be the next man to face GSP, as Nick Diaz has been re-inserted into the No. 1 contender spot, leaving Condit without an opponent. Koscheck, of course, has offered his services once again.
“Just thinking! That dude (Condit) should of took the fight with me on a week notice (because) if he HAD a chance 2 make it a close fight, it was then. NOW 0 chance,” Koscheck wrote on his Twitter account. “Just for the record, I’ll be ready to fight again by Feb. 4:) Training for (blank)????”
Koscheck, 33 years old, returned from a serious eye injury suffered in a loss to St-Pierre by knocking out Matt Hughes at UFC 135 in September. It has been reported that Condit will fight on the same February card as GSP-Diaz, but an opponent has not been announced.
