TMZ, an entertainment gossip site, is reporting that former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will appear in the upcoming WWE: 12 video game, with a commercial featuring Lesnar set to be released today.
Lesnar, who made a name for himself while competing in the pro wrestling organization, was approached by the WWE back in January in regards to having his name and likeness appear in the game. Lesnar was excited about the opportunity, but wanted UFC President Dana White’s approval to have it done.
“I love WWE and I have nothing but love for Vince McMahon – I’m totally OK with Brock being in the game,” White said.
Lesnar competed for the WWE from 2002-04, securing a spot in the main event a short time after his debut. He eventually left pro wrestling and tried out for the NFL, but failed to make the Minnesota Vikings roster after final cuts were made.
From there, Lesnar embarked on an MMA career that has seen him win the UFC heavyweight title. He will compete next in December at UFC 141 when he meets Alistair Overeem in a No. 1 contender bout.
