The odds are in and – surprise, surprise – UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones has opened as a big early favorite over his next opponent, former 205lbs. champ Lyoto Machida.
Nick Kalikas of BetOnFighting.com released an early line for the UFC 140 match-up to his Twitter account, with Jones coming in at -375 and Machida at +275.
Jones’ was pegged as a -475 overdog against his originally scheduled opponent for UFC 140, former light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans. Jonny Bones’ last opponent, another former champion in Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, came in as high as +450 on some books before their September scrap; Jones would dominate that fight – his first title defense – to win via fourth round submission. When he first challenged Mauricio “Shogun” Rua for the belt back in March, the odds favored Jones at around -200 to Rua’s +150; Jones won via third-round TKO to begin what’s shaping up to be a lengthy title reign.
Bones and The Dragon are expected to meet at UFC 140, which is scheduled to take place at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario on December 10.
