UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard 3 will go down this Saturday, October 8, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
On the card, UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard will dispute the title in a rubber match, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Kenny Florian will meet in a second title fight and middleweights Chael Sonnen and Brian Stann will square off for a likely shot at the middleweight belt.
Today, those six fighters and UFC president Dana White appeared before the media for the pre-fight press conference.

-“Nobody wants to fight Brian Stann, I’m not the only guy and that’s not a big secret. Our paths were going to have to cross sooner or later. … Brian’s not going to get called out by anybody and that includes me.” – Sonnen
-Stann says he’s been working very heavily to shore up his wrestling defenses over the past two years. He isn’t worried about out-wrestling Sonnen, just out-striking him.

-If Edgar wins and makes it 1-1-1, Dana says they’ll be moving past it anyway. The UFC lightweight division is stacked with talent and the draw created a logjam, it will be necessary to move on.
-Stann reveals that Sonnen was a ringside announcer at his first professional fight and doesn’t believe that ring rust will not impact Sonnen’s performance all that much.
