MMAJunkie.com has gotten their hands on the ratings for last weekend’s UFC on Versus 6 (also known as UFC Live: Cruz vs. Johnson) event, revealing that the show came in third overall in the series’ history.
The fight card, which was the first aired on the Versus network featuring a title fight, drew 789,000 viewers, falling behind UFC on Versus 1 and UFC on Versus 2, both of which featured current UFC light heavyweight champion Jonny “Bones” Jones.
UFC on Versus 6 was headlined by UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and challenger Demetrious Johnson, who met to dispute The Dominator’s title. The two 135-pounders battled it out over a grueling five rounds, with Cruz holding onto his belt by virtue of his size, strength and superior grappling.
The event was also the last UFC show to be aired on the network, as the promotion has now entered into a multi-year broadcasting deal with FOX.
UFC on Versus 6 took place at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., marking the first-ever UFC event to be held in the nation’s capital.
