Round 1: Both men respecting the other, taking a moment to feel the other out. Struve with a body kick. Barry goes inside with a leg kick. Again. Barry trying to cut off the cage from Struve. He lands another good leg kick. The ref tells them to turn it up and they start to engage. Struve tries to get in close and Barry backs him off by bracing on his elbows. The crowd is going restless. Barry goes to the body with a straight and almost touches Struve’s head with a high kick. Strive lands a knee. Struve is starting to work from his range, landing push kicks. Barry lands a good left hand. Barry lands a good leg kick and Struve returns with a head kick.

Round 2: Struve comes out flurrying to start the first, but Barry defends well and lands a hard shot after finding his way inside that makes Struve smile. Barry goes for a head kick; Barry is starting to turn things up, landing good leg kicks and defending well. Both men are loosening up and settling into a kickboxing match. Barry with a good leg kick. Despite the reach difference, the edge at this point is going to the more experienced Barry. Barry lands a good left hook counter when Struve moves in with a knee. Struve goes for a choke standing and drags Barry to the mat. Struve slaps on the triangle from guard, Barry picks him up and slams him, but it just tightens the choke; Barry is forced to tap.

Struve says he’s been working hard on his kickboxing and he’s really happy with the result; asks the crowd to give it up for Barry, “one of the coolest guys in MMA.”
