Dominick Cruz Would Welcome Fight With Jose Aldo

UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz has a title defense tonight against Demetrious Johnson set for the main event of UFC on Versus 6. However, many feel like the best fight for “The Dominator” is a clash with UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

“I’m never going to say no to something like that, but I’m really not worried about it right now,” said Cruz recently during a pre-fight teleconference. “I haven’t really thought about it, to be honest. I’ve done two camps back-to-back. Each fight, I’m very focused on the fighter I’m up against. I will say that I’m not going to turn down the opportunity if it comes up in the future.”

Cruz and Aldo each have plenty of challengers in front of them, as Aldo has a title fight scheduled with Kenny Florian for UFC 136 next week. Also, Aldo has made mention of moving up to another weight class, which would keep him farther apart from Cruz and the 135-pound division.

FightLine.com will have complete coverage of UFC on Versus 6 tonight, beginning with the prelim card at 6 p.m. ET. Along with the Cruz-Johnson bout, Stefan Struve faces Pat Barry in a heavyweight slugfest, and Charlie Brenneman meets Anthony Johnson.
