UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is trying to constantly evolve as an MMA fighter, training at different camps with different fighters from all over the global.
That’s why it should come as no surprise that St-Pierre has brought in former No. 1 contender Dan Hardy to train with him as he prepares to face Carlos Condit at UFC 137 for his title.
“Guess who landed in town yesterday night to come train with me?” St-Pierre wrote on his Twitter account Wednesday morning. “For sure he’ll bring the much needed intensity to get prepared…Dan Hardy!!”
GSP has won nine consecutive fights, including six defenses of his title. During his recent run, he defeated Hardy via unanimous decision at UFC 111 in early 2010.
Hardy, though, is in a slump, having lost four in a row since facing St-Pierre. The Brit brings a style very similar to that of Condit, and has been inside the cage with “The Natural Born Killer,” losing to him at UFC 120 by knockout.
UFC 137 takes place October 29 from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Along with St-Pierre vs. Condit, B.J. Penn will meet Nick Diaz in a welterweight bout.
