Bellator 51 Ratings Rise, But Still Near All-Time Low

Bellator 51 drew 158,000 viewers this past Saturday, a 39 percent rise from the prior week, but still just 14th all-time of the 17 events shown live by MTV2.

The show, which featured the opening round of the bantamweight tournament, was up against UFC 135, which boasted a main event pitting UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defending his title against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Matt Hughes also fought Josh Koscheck on the card.

Bellator 51 took place from the Canton Memorial Civic Center in Canton, Ohio. It saw Alexis Vila stun Joe Warren with an incredible first round knockout, along with tournament wins from Eduardo Danta, Marcos Galvao and Ed West.

Bellator’s three season five events have averaged 169,000 viewers. Bellator 50 had an all-time low 114,000 viewers on September 17.
