Dan Henderson was one of those in attendance Saturday night at UFC 135 that walked away impressed by UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Henderson, who recently signed back with the UFC and will compete against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the main event of UFC 139, saw Jones take out former champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson with a fourth round rear-naked choke.
“I would love to match myself up with (Jones) one of these days, whether it’s for a belt or not,” said Henderson, in an interview with Clinch Gear Radio. “He’s just one of these awkward fighters that makes it more fun to fight, a funner challenger. He has some different tools that he uses, and it’s always funner to try and figure out how to beat him.”
It is possible that Henderson gets a chance to face Jones, as UFC President Dana White has said the Henderson-Rua winner could be next in line to face the UFC 205-pound champion after Rashad Evans gets his shot at Jones.
