Rob Broughton wants nothing more than a slugfest with Travis Browne tonight at UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage.
Broughton (15-5-1) just hopes that Browne (11-0-1) is willing to oblige when the door closes on the two heavyweights in Denver, Colorado at the Pepsi Center.
“One thing I do bring to the cage every time is a good fight, a good scrap,” said Broughton, in an interview with MMAjunkie.com. “So, fingers crossed.”
Broughton has been battling back from a shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined for several months. In his UFC debut, he defeated Vinicius Queiroz with a third round submission using a rear-naked choke. Broughton has won five straight fights since a loss in 2009.
“I don’t think he’s been in with people I’ve been in with,” said Broughton, of Browne’s opponents. “So, let’s just see what happens.”
Browne defeated Stefan Struve via Superman punch this past May. Last year, he fought to a draw with Cheick Kong. Overall, Browne is 2-0-1 inside the UFC.
Broughton-Browne will be part of the live, pay-per-view card which begins at 9 p.m. ET. FightLine.com will have complete coverage, beginning with the prelims, which stream live on Facebook at 6:30 p.m. ET.
