Jon Jones and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson got in their final words today after they hit the scales to weigh in for their light heavyweight championship bout tomorrow night since, presumably, the next time the two see each other will be when they enter the Octagon to do battle.
For his part, Jackson wanted Jones to be sure he knew what he was in store for tomorrow night: an end to the fanfare he’s grown accustomed to.
“Hey, I had to tell Jones, I had to keep it real with him, I’m gonna end his hype tomorrow,” said Rampage. “That’s what I told him.”
Rampage left the fans with a pledge to deliver not simply a memorable fight, but the best one that they’ve ever witnessed.
“Tomorrow, I’m gonna give y’all the best fight y’all ever seen, that’s one thing I can promise,” he said.
Though he’s been more adversarial in the lead-up to this fight than ever before, Jones had little to say on the eve of the fight.
“You know what? I feel real good and I think I’ve done enough talking,” said the champ. “It’s time for me to show what I’ve got now. So, let’s do it.”
UFC 135: Jones vs. Jackson goes down tomorrow night at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. Don’t forget to check back on FightLine.com starting at 6:30p.m ET tomorrow night for our live, ongoing coverage of the event.
